A thoughtless overtaking maneuver on state road 2082 near Pliening had serious consequences on Wednesday morning. About 300 meters before entering Neufinsing, a 70-year-old driver wanted to overtake a wheel loader at around 10:15 a.m. and overlooked the oncoming car of a 69-year-old. The impact deformed both vehicles so severely that the doors could no longer be opened. The fire brigades from Pliening and Gelting, which were at the scene of the accident with 36 emergency services, had to free the occupants. The 70-year-old suffered only minor injuries in the accident, the 69-year-old was moderately injured, according to the police, and was taken to a hospital by helicopter. The police estimate the damage incurred at a total of 15,000 euros, and the state road was completely closed for two hours.
