The pilot died when a small plane crashed in Wetzlar. A woman was taken to a hospital with injuries, police said. According to eyewitness reports, the light aircraft touched a house in the afternoon for initially unknown reasons and then fell on a car.
The driver was injured; How heavy was initially unclear. The pilot sat alone in the plane, the woman alone in the car. According to initial findings, more people were not injured. The Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation has started the investigation.
Where the pilot came from and where he wanted to go, as well as his identity and that of the driver were not initially clear either. The crash did not occur – as initially reported – in the city center of the central Hessian district town with its around 53,000 inhabitants, but in the Naunheim district.
