A 51-year-old woman was fatally injured in an accident on Thursday morning in Dachau. A 45-year-old parcel delivery man turned left in his vehicle from Augustenfelder Strasse into Bahnhofstrasse. According to the police’s previous knowledge, he overlooked the 51-year-old pedestrian who was crossing Augustenfelder Strasse on the sidewalk. The truck caught the Dachau woman and dragged her along for a few meters. The woman had to be admitted to the Dachau Clinic, where she eventually succumbed to her injuries.
On behalf of the Munich II public prosecutor’s office, an expert was appointed to the scene of the accident to clarify the cause. The Bahnhofstrasse had to be completely closed for about three hours due to the rescue measures and accident recording. The Dachau fire brigade and the police were on site with a large contingent. The 45-year-old parcel carrier is now being investigated on suspicion of negligent homicide.
