A toddler runs into the street and is hit by two cars. She dies at the scene of the accident. An expert should clarify how this could have happened.
A three-year-old child is two in southern Hesse Cars hit and fatally injured. As the police announced, she died at the scene of the accident near Lampertheim on Wednesday evening.
According to the report, the child ran onto a country road. There it was hit by a 59-year-old’s car and the impact caused it to be thrown into the oncoming lane. Then a 27-year-old driver’s car hit the child. An expert commissioned by the public prosecutor’s office will clarify how it got onto the road and how the accident occurred.
There is accommodation for refugees on the property from which the child is said to have run into the street, a police spokesman said. The child came from this accommodation.
Emergency responders on duty
In addition to doctors and police officers, a crisis intervention team was at the scene of the accident. Emergency pastors also provide first aid in the first hours after such an accident. “It’s about restoring basic psychological stability,” says Susanne Fitz from the Darmstadt-Dieburg emergency pastoral care. Many of those affected are in shock, others need to talk. “What each person needs is very individual,” explains Fitz.
However, it is important not to promise those involved a positive future in such tragic moments. “The situation has to be accepted first,” says Fitz. This also includes enduring the changed reality.

An accident with personal injury is an exceptional situation for every driver, says a spokesman for ADAC Hesse-Thuringia. As with any car accident, the following applies in tragic cases like these: secure the scene of the accident and inform the police. This would allow you to request help as quickly as possible and avoid further negative consequences. And you should give first aid.
