The Friday evening before the Figaro premiere (Monday, October 30th), dress rehearsal in the National Theater. Anyone who is here is either on or behind the stage or otherwise part of the house – or can show a Ludwig Maximilian University student ID upon entry. Because Munich’s university is now the official cultural partner of the Bavarian State Opera. State Director Serge Dorny is pleased about this because, as is well known, he sees his house as a place “where people from different backgrounds gather, form a community and enter into a dialogue, social debates and share a common cultural experience.” And LMU President Bernd Huber is also delighted. He hopes that as many students as possible will take advantage of the new offer in the future.
