AC Milan equalize in the 90th minute against Salernitana in Serie A

Olivier Giroud’s teammates almost suffered a fourth away defeat in the Championship, against Salernitana on Friday evening. They finally avoided the worst against the red lantern of Serie A by equalizing in the 90th minute of play (2-2).

AC Milan opened the scoring thanks to a goal from Fikayo Tomori, who was quicker than the defense by heading a rebound into the area (17th). Salernitana then returned to the match with a headed goal also, from defender Federico Fazio, from a corner taken by Antonio Candreva (42nd). The latter crushed Stefano Pioli’s men after returning from the locker room (63rd) by scoring the second goal for the bottom team. It was in the 90th minute of play that Luka Jovic delivered his own. The Frenchman Olivier Giroud had gained the upper hand in the air and therefore put it back on the Serb who made a half-volley.

Fiorentina now fourth

Fiorentina won at the same time against Monza (1-0), ending a series of three matches without a victory away in the Championship. Lucas Beltran’s only goal after an error by opposing goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio (7th) was enough for the Viola to win. Vincenzo Italiano’s men subsequently managed their small lead in the score to pocket the three points.

This new victory for Fiorentina allows it to temporarily place itself in fourth place in the Italian Championship, a good distance from the first places. Monza is eleventh in Serie A.
