A9: Caught at the wheel with 3.36 per mille – Bavaria

A woman notices the man’s unsafe driving style. There are beer, wine and liquor bottles in the car. Since there are also traces of an accident on the car, it is now also being investigated for having escaped the accident.

A man’s breath alcohol test showed 3.36 per mille when he was checked by the motorway police in the Upper Franconian district of Hof. In his car were several beer and wine bottles and a liquor bottle, as the police announced on Friday. A woman had previously noticed the man’s unsafe driving style on Autobahn 9 heading south and alerted the police.

According to the police, the driver’s license of the 60-year-old man was confiscated on Friday night directly at the Frankenwald rest area. The car was parked. Blood was also drawn from the man.

Since there were also fresh traces of an accident on the car, the police are now investigating not only the drunk driving but also the accident escape.
