A young man seriously injured in a fall after refusing to comply

A 23-year-old young man was seriously injured this Sunday morning in Hauts-de-Seine during a fall that occurred after refusing priority to a police car which then asked him to stop. “Around 5 o’clock, this morning a young person on a scooter without a helmet refused priority to a police vehicle, which followed him before very quickly stopping following him” along an avenue separating Asnières-sur- Seine and Gennevilliers, indicated the prefecture.

The police then lost sight of the two-wheeler, found a few minutes later “down below on a railway track, apparently after what would have been a collision between the scooter and a metal barrier”, continued the prefecture . “The conditions of the facts” still remain unclear at this stage, insists the same source.

“In serious, even very serious condition”

The 23-year-old young man was “in serious, even very serious, condition”, she added, indicating that he was “still alive” at the start of the evening. Two investigations were opened, one entrusted to the Departmental Security and the other to the police according to the prefecture, which did not specify for which leaders.

When contacted, the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office could not be reached on Sunday evening.
