a woman and her four children found dead, the father arrested in Sevran

An investigation into “premeditated intentional homicide” has been opened.

The investigations were entrusted to the Versailles judicial police. The lifeless bodies of five people were discovered in an apartment in Meaux (Seine-et-Marne) on the evening of Monday December 25. It concerns a mother and her four young children, Franceinfo learned from a police source, confirming information from the site Actu.fr. The children are aged 10 years, 7 years, 4 years and 9 months, the prosecution said in a press release, published Tuesday morning.

First of all “actively sought” by the police, the father was arrested in Sevran, in Seine-Saint-Denis, franceinfo learned from a source close to the investigation, confirming information from RMC.

A neighbor sounds the alarm

It was a neighbor of the family who raised the alarm after discovering a trace of blood in the apartment. In her testimony to franceinfo, this woman who lives in the same five-story building as the victim, located near Square Adam-de-la-Halle in Meaux, declared that she had invited the family for New Year’s Eve. Without news from them, an acquaintance of the neighbor, “the son of a friend”, went to the apartment door to see if he was okay. Without opening his front door, the father then declared: “Everyone is sleeping”.

A little later, the neighbor received a text message from the mother, indicating that she was “at a cousin’s house”. Believing that this message was not like those usually sent by the mother and worried to see the blinds in the apartment had been drawn down for several hours, the neighbor discovered blood on the handle.

This witness, in a state of shock, described the father arrested as someone who was depressed and very reserved. The mother, on the other hand, was very jovial, she added.
