A white march is preparing, a kitty launched

“Everyone will be welcome (…). This is to pay tribute to mom, and all the women who have been victims of their spouse or ex-spouse. At the initiative of her family and in particular her daughter who announced it on social networks, a white march in memory of Karine Esquivillon, whose husband was indicted for spousal murder and imprisoned, will be held this Saturday in Maché (Vendée).

This march must leave at 2 p.m. from La Malnoue, a hamlet where Karine Esquivillon lived, to reach the town center of Maché and its church, where there will be a deposit of flowers or candles. “We are going to take care of the organization because we fear a large influx given the media coverage of this affair”, indicated a few days ago Frédéric Rager, the mayor of this municipality of 1,800 inhabitants.

“Ensuring a future for the two youngest”

This mother of five children had disappeared without leaving any other known trace than a mobile phone discovered two weeks later, on April 9, in a ditch in the town, without a SIM card but still charged. A call for witnesses had been launched on May 9 by the gendarmes to try to find her. Speaking first of a voluntary departure, her ex-husband Michel Pialle had ended up confessing to the gendarmes “having killed his wife on March 27, 2023 with a shot from a 22 Long Rifle rifle equipped with a silencer” suddenly “gone accidentally”.

This week, Karine Esquivillon’s daughter also launched a online kitty to finance the funeral and “help us take care of the two youngest [enfants de la victime] and provide them with a future. It has already received around sixty entries in two days.
