A virtual fair with “nearly 1,000 jobs” to fill

Find a job from your sofa, without moving. This is more or less the promise of the next “Jobs In” virtual fair. This concept will be tested in Strasbourg, for Alsace, next week. Precisely from Tuesday 16 to Thursday 18 November.

The principle ? People looking for an offer can connect to the digital platform and interact with recruiters. Registrations are already open, the only prerequisite being the preparation of a CV. “It will be simple, intuitive and there will be no need to download anything”, announces the president of the company which organizes the event. He announces “already more than 800 job offers available” and “expects nearly 1,000, of which at least 50% of CDI”.

More than 150,000 unemployed people in Alsace

All sectors will be concerned, especially those in tension. “We can classify them into six large families: hotels / restaurants, construction, transport, industry, health and social and finally commerce”, details Claude Rouillon, the territorial director of Pôle emploi, satisfied with this meeting of a new kind. “People find it more and more difficult to come to institutions because it stresses them out. Leaving them in a favorable environment will put them in better conditions. “

The Strasbourg Eurometropolis, the Grand-Est region, the European community of Alsace and the chamber of commerce and industry have also been associated with this “Jobs In” Strasbourg. Many point to the “paradox” between a current high number of jobs and a still high unemployment rate.

In the third quarter of 2021, Alsace had just over 153,000 unemployed people, including 92,000 in Bas-Rhin.
