Failing to host the agricultural fair, the Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles in Paris will be transformed into a “vaccine park”. “The police headquarters, the Ile-de-France regional health agency, in collaboration with the City of Paris, are mobilizing to open, from the beginning of May, a very large capacity vaccination center , with the mobilization of the Paris fire brigade, ”the Paris Police Prefecture and the City announced on Wednesday in a press release.

At the beginning of April, the PS mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo had asked the state authorities to “anticipate” the development of one or more “vaccinodromes” in Paris, during a visit to the vaccination center installed at the Stadium of France.

13 million first doses administered

During a meeting at the Elysee Palace on Tuesday, Emmanuel Macron welcomed the fact that vaccination “is accelerating”; 13 million people had received a first dose this Wednesday evening.

The Covid-19 epidemic seems to be on a downward slope in France, but the strain on the health system remains strong, with more than 31,000 hospitalized patients, including almost 6,000 in intensive care, according to the latest figures.
