“A UFO”… First star for the astonishing restaurant at the Château des Pères

Barely moved in, already awarded! At the Château des Pères, in Piré-Chancé, the Table des Pères team didn’t take long to adapt to their new kitchens. A few months after moving into its brand new building, the restaurant obtained its first star in the Michelin Guide. Built at the foot of a hotel with a futuristic look that has just been inaugurated, the establishment offers an unobstructed view of the castle garden. A vegetable garden in which chef Jérôme Jouadé likes to pick up his ingredients and his ideas.

A concept that seduced the jury of the Michelin Guide, who did not hesitate to qualify the shape of this new building as a “UFO”. “Chef Jérôme Jouadé exercises his art there with a real sensitivity to nature and plants. He also benefits from a greenhouse, a snail enclosure, an orchard and practices wild picking himself,” explains the guide.

The restaurateur had become known in particular for organizing meals perched in the trees of this park located about twenty minutes from Rennes. Bought by the Legendre family, the estate has been transformed and hosts many monumental works of art in its park. Open to the public, the Château des Pères is very popular with locals who come to stroll there. Last year, the luxury hotel L’essenCiel opened its doors, revealing its improbable architecture of an inhabited tree.

La Table des Pères is one of the two new starred restaurants in the Ille-et-Vilaine department, along with Maison Tirel-Guérin in La Gouesnière, near Saint-Malo.
