The victim allegedly crashed into a stationary car during the cycling event, after swimming and before the run.
The accident took place in the town of Vendays-Montalivet. The septuagenarian would have fallen before hitting the vehicle, specifies France 3 Aquitaine. Supported by the emergency services, he was helicoptered to the CHU Pellegrin in Bordeaux. It is not known if his vital prognosis is engaged. An investigation was opened by the gendarmes.
