A theft of identity papers ruins a transfer to Bordeaux

The day of Tuesday is to be totally forgotten for Bordeaux. After the frustrating defeat on their lawn against Le Havre (1-2) relegating them to ten points behind the Norman leader in league 2, the Girondins missed an expected reinforcement in the offensive sector. The club’s sporting director, Admar Lopes, had his papers stolen just before taking the plane to complete the transfer, we learned from a source close to the club.

The recruit hoped for to compensate for the departure of the Honduran striker Alberth Elis, loaned to Brest, will therefore not come. However, an agreement had been reached at the end of transfer window with the club of this young striker playing abroad – whose name has not leaked – provided that the transfer is concluded in person. But when boarding to join the country of the selling club, the Bordeaux sports director Admar Lopes had his bag stolen containing his personal papers and a computer.

For lack of identity papers, the Portuguese could not board and the transfer fell through. During this transfer window, Bordeaux therefore separated from Alberth Elis and recruited only one player, the Romanian U20 international striker Alexi Pitu, who came into play in the last quarter of an hour against Le Havre.
