A temporary bus stop in the Pissevin district, deprived of transport due to violence

The agglomeration of Nîmes (Gard) has decided to set up a temporary bus stop in the Pissevin district, “to respond to the emergency service” in the sector, indicates the community. Nîmes who live in this district will be able to take public transport (T2 and L8), for a duration which has not yet been specified, at the intersection of rue Neper and avenue Kennedy.

“This location was chosen in order to limit walking to take public transport as much as possible,” explains the town. This temporary stop will be in place until existing stations and stops, currently not served, are effectively secured, in order to preserve the safety of drivers and users. »

The Pissevin district, in Nîmes, has been plagued for several years by bloody settling of scores linked to drug trafficking. Public transport had been suspended in the area due to the violence. A media library had closed and the waste collection had been postponed for the same reasons.
