A 16-year-old was seriously injured with several stab wounds by another teenager on Tuesday morning near a high school in Hyères (Var), we learned from the Toulon prosecutor’s office.
During a “physical altercation” between the two minors, “one of them used a knife and struck several blows” at the other. The victim was hospitalized in serious condition and “his vital prognosis is engaged”, said the prosecution.
The alleged attacker is 15 years old.
The alleged attacker, aged 15, was arrested and taken into custody for attempted homicide. According to a police source, he was arrested by a police rescue team inside the school itself, the Golf-Hotel vocational school.
The causes of the initial altercation are not yet known, but, according to “testimonies from classmates of the victim” quoted by France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur, “there was a dispute old between the two young people.
