A suspected member of the commando arrested in Roissy

It had been almost three years since Khaled Aedh Alotaibi, an alleged member of the commando group that assassinated Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, was the subject of an Interpol “red notice”. This 33-year-old man, a former member of the Royal Guard of Saudi Arabia, was arrested this Tuesday morning, around 9:30 am, at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, learned 20 minutes corroborating sources, confirming information from
RTL. The man was about to embark for Riyadh under his real identity and with his passport.

The man was placed in judicial detention. French justice must examine his possible extradition to Turkey, the country where Saudi journalist Khashoggi was assassinated on October 2, 2018. This journalist, a fierce critic of Saudi power, visited the premises of his country’s consulate in Istanbul , to settle a divorce proceeding and never came out. The investigations made it possible to determine that he was assassinated by a commando of fifteen agents coming from Saudi Arabia. His dismembered body has never been found.
