A strike notice filed from Friday to Monday to denounce the lack of staff

Several dozen striking employees from Marseille-Provence airport gathered on Friday in Marignane (Bouches-du-Rhône) to denounce degraded working conditions and demand salary increases, with a limited impact on passengers due to requisitions .

“Given the need to ensure our public service mission and the safety of operations, essential personnel have been requisitioned”, announced Thursday evening the management of the airport in a press release, saying that it anticipates two cancellations of flights from of Paris Charles-de-Gaulle “because of the Parisian strike movement”.

“We are overwhelmed with the number of passengers”

At the call of an inter-union FO-CGT-CFE-CGC, a strike notice was filed from Friday to Monday to denounce a “lack of hiring” and “bonuses which have not been revalued since before the Covid”, and this, despite inflation, detailed Michel Tremori, general secretary of the FO union at Marseille-Provence airport.

At this airport “we have a declining workforce”, up to 20% who have not been renewed, which “poses a lot of problems given the return of traffic” to a pre-pandemic level, as last May where it was even higher than May 2019, detailed the union representative.
