A single-family home in Sendling-Westpark burned down on Monday night – Munich

On Monday night, a single-family home on Innerkoflerstrasse in Sendling-Westpark was completely burned out. The 45-year-old resident noticed the fire around 11 p.m., rescued his family outside and called the emergency number. When the fire brigade and police arrived, the house was already fully ablaze. The fire brigade only managed to completely extinguish the fire around Monday morning. Apparently the fire started in the kitchen. Because the house was built with wooden studs, it was necessary to open up large parts of the facade and the insulation.

While fighting the fire, a firefighter was injured because the staircase he was on partially collapsed. He sustained moderate cuts to his legs. The man was taken to a clinic by his colleagues for treatment. The total damage is estimated at several hundred thousand euros. No one else was injured by the fire. Further investigations are being carried out by Commissariat 13 (Arson Crimes) of the Munich Criminal Investigation Department. The building is currently uninhabitable.
