a shoe discovered on the body of the victim recognized by the family

The investigators have become almost certain that the body discovered on the Rhône near Vallabrègues, a town in the Gard, is indeed that of the truck driver whose truck had fallen into the river.

The accident occurred in mid-February, in the town of Aramon, located about ten kilometers upstream. Despite searches by divers, his body had not been found.

The autopsy should definitively confirm his identity.

The body discovered on the Rhône is unrecognizable after having spent a long time in the water. But the photographs of the clothes sent to the relatives of the truck driver leave little room for doubt. They recognized a shoe belonging to him.

The DNA samples taken Tuesday from the body, at the forensic institute of Nîmes, should remove the last doubts about his identity.
