A severed human finger sent by mail to the Elysée

Every day, the Elysée receives between 1,500 and 2,000 letters addressed to the presidency, which are inspected by the presidential correspondence service. It was in one of them that a piece of a human finger was discovered.

An investigation was opened on Monday for threat of crime or misdemeanor against an elected official, a police source and the Paris prosecutor’s office said on Thursday, confirming information of Current values.

Shipper with psychiatric disorders identified

According Current values, “the finger was put in a fridge where the police put their bowls. The Élysée has made sure that it remains off. There is no written record, nothing”.

According to a source familiar with the matter, the fingertip belongs to the author of the letter who signed it. This one would suffer from psychiatric disorders and was taken care of. Asked, the Elysée did not respond immediately.
