Jung expects severe frost at night on the weekend, with temperatures sometimes falling between minus 15 and minus 20 degrees.

In areas of central and southern Germany, there is slight permafrost away from urban centers and river basins and generally in mountainous areas. The DWD also predicts “severe squalls in the mountains and on the sea” for Monday, and “temporary hurricane-like gusts are possible” in the North Sea. After a calmer Tuesday, according to Jung, the wind will blow particularly strongly on Wednesday night (January 24th).
