A second film will be released for Christmas with the original cast (and Nathalie Baye)

He was pretty sure that the movie Downton abbey, released in 2019, was going to be entitled to a sequel. Series creator Julian Fellowes was on board, Michelle Dockery and the rest of the cast too, and there was even talk of Nathalie Bay as a guest star, as a friend of the unmistakable Lady Violet Crawley. It’s now official, as the newspaper confirms Variety and the Universal distributor, Downton abbey 2 will be released in theaters at Christmas, with of course the original cast, but also new recruits: Nathalie Bay therefore, as well as Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock and Dominic West.

An ideal remedy for the current crisis and the prevailing gloom

While Julian Fellowes is still writing the screenplay, the film will not be directed by Michael Engler as the first, but by Simon Curtis (My Week with Marylin).
