The sprinters will once again be featured in the Tour de France. After two tough first stages in the Spanish Basque Country, won by Adam Yates (UAE) and Victor Lafay (Cofidis), the peloton leaves Spain for good on Tuesday July 4, the day after its arrival in Bayonne. In Bayonne as in Nogaro, the final on a descending false flat is conducive to an explanation between the best sprinters in the peloton.

On a flat course of 181.8 km, only a fourth category difficulty, the coast of Dému (2km at 3.5%), is on the program, as is an intermediate sprint 88.2 km from the finish. Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck), Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma), Fabio Jakobsen (Soudal Quick-Step) or even Mark Cavendish (Astana Qazaqstan) are expected for an original final since on the circuit automobile Paul-Armagnac, end of this fourth stage.
