A search underway at the Ministry of Justice

A search has been underway since 9 a.m. this Thursday morning, Place Vendôme in the offices of the Ministry of Justice, learned 20 minutes from a judicial source, confirming
information from Parisian. Accompanied by gendarmes from the Paris research section, three magistrates of the Court of Justice of the Republic therefore entered the ministry. They are investigating suspicions of illegal taking of interests targeting Eric Dupond-Moretti.

In January, the Court of Justice of the Republic indicated that it had opened this investigation related to these former functions of lawyer. This followed several complaints filed not only by magistrates’ unions but also by the Anticor association, such as 20 minutes revealed it at the time.

The “Paul Bismuth eavesdropping” affair in the background

At the heart of the accusations is the administrative investigation ordered by the minister in September on three magistrates of the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office (PNF) who had participated in a preliminary investigation aimed at identifying the mole who allegedly informed Nicolas Sarkozy and his lawyer Thierry Herzog that they were wiretapped in the so-called “Bismuth” case. The magistrates’ unions and the anti-corruption association accuse Eric Dupond-Moretti of using his functions as minister to settle old scores, when he was a lawyer.
