The litigation took an extremely violent turn. A 55-year-old restaurateur suspected of having fired a shotgun on Sunday in Isère at two customers who left without paying for their drinks was indicted Wednesday for “double assassination attempt” and imprisoned, we learned from the Grenoble parquet.
The fifty-year-old would have opened fire on Sunday evening on two friends who were leaving his establishment in Roussillon, south of Vienna, without paying for their two drinks of beer. According to Dauphiné Liberated, which revealed the information, a dispute would have arisen shortly before the closure of the establishment between the restaurant owner and his two customers.
The restaurateur says he shot in the air
The altercation was said to have extended to a site near the restaurant, where the manager would then have used his weapon. His shot gravely hit one of the two friends on the left arm and more lightly the second. Aged 34, the most heavily affected victim was transported to Lyon-Sud hospital.
The alleged perpetrator presented himself to investigators from the Vienna Search Brigade on Monday, where he explained that he had fired in the air. But the use of CCTV cameras made it possible to establish that he “opened fire in the direction of the victim”, explained to the regional daily the prosecutor of the Republic of Vienna, Audrey Quey. The Grenoble prosecutor’s office, competent in criminal matters, opened a judicial investigation after his counterpart in Vienna relinquished jurisdiction.
