A rental sailboat sinks in minutes, the seven passengers rescued

They had left Saint-Malo with a 12m rental sailboat that he had just recovered. The seven Belgian tourists will not have been far. While they had traveled about sixty nautical miles and were sailing not far from the Sept Iles reserve, off Perros-Guirec (Côtes d’Armor), the seven occupants saw their sailboat sink in ten minutes at the beginning of afternoon Monday 23 August, as specified by the SNSM of
Ile Grande on its Facebook page.

Alerted, the rescuers at sea were not yet on the spot that the passengers had already been recovered by a boat of the League for the protection of birds and a boater who were in the area. Refugees on their liferaft, the tourists were unharmed. “They had the right reflexes: life jackets, launching of the tender, installation of the engine, launching of the raft, recovery of food and business,” said the SNSM.

The wreckage finally sank at Bono Island and lies thirty meters deep. We do not yet know the reasons for this sinking. The seven occupants were brought ashore in Trestraou. Shocked, but unharmed.
