A large police force was deployed near the building where the 12-year-old girl was killed in October 2022. Dahbia Benkired, indicted for murder and rape, was present on site.

This is an essential step, attended by the investigating judges and which generally takes place at the end of the investigation. A reconstruction of the murder of little Lola took place this Friday, rue Manin (Paris 19th), where the 12-year-old blonde girl lived with her parents.

Dahbia Benkired, indicted for “murder and rape with acts of torture and barbarity on a minor under 15 years old”, arrived on site around 9:20 a.m. in an unmarked vehicle. Around fifteen CRS vans were parked in the street while numerous police officers patrolled around the residence and monitored the entrance to the building.

The suspect “collaborated”

Inside, kraft paper lined the windows on the ground floor to protect the place from prying eyes. Dahbia Benkired left in a police vehicle around 2:30 p.m. The suspect “collaborated in the reconstruction”commented his lawyer, Me Alexandre Silva, without saying more.

On October 14, 2022, Lola’s body was found in a plastic trunk, left in the common areas of her residence. The suspect, a 25-year-old Algerian woman subject to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF), was arrested then indicted and imprisoned. The investigation, entrusted to the criminal brigade under the leadership of two investigating judges, should end during the year.

According to a first psychiatric expertise in November 2022, the suspect would not suffer “of no psychic or neuropsychic disorder having abolished or altered one’s discernment”. The doctor then specified that the facts with which he is accused are “well and truly linked to a serious and complex personality disorder” and that it presents a certain “dangerousness” as well as a “absence of empathy and guilt”.

A devastated family

For their part, little Lola’s parents left Paris to return to live in Pas-de-Calais where the little girl’s father came from.

“Lola’s mother wishes to keep her grief private. At this point, she needs to reclaim her daughter who was taken from her and has been the subject of so much public talk.”her lawyer, Me Clotilde Lepetit, told us, a year after the little girl’s death. “It intends for justice to carry out, through its investigation and then through the judgment which will follow, the greatest investigations to, on the one hand, try to understand and shed as much light as possible on the facts, then to on the other hand, to obtain the highest level of debate, the highest level of reflection with a view to a criminal response, so that such acts never happen again.”his lawyer told us.

In a letter distributed by Le Figaro Lola’s big brother, aged 18, paid tribute to her, a year after the events. “I’m writing you this note already to tell you how much I miss you since you left to see the stars (…) Life is very long without you »he wrote to her.
