The van, reported stolen for a few days, attracted the attention of the Bac police when they spotted it in the Croix-Bonneau district on Monday afternoon in Nantes.
But the arrest of its driver, who had just gotten behind the wheel of this Renault Trafic, did not go as planned. Shortly before 5 p.m., a police officer was “deliberately” hit by the vehicle trying to flee, police report on his account (ex-Twitter).
A broken foot
According to a police source, the police officer was transported to Nantes University Hospital and suffered a broken foot and several bruises. Another officer would also be shocked since he threw himself to the ground to avoid the vehicle, which ultimately ended up hitting a pole.
The driver and his passenger were arrested and taken into custody immediately.
