A police officer from the departmental security committed suicide on Tuesday in the premises of the Toulon police station with his service weapon, we learned from the Toulon prosecutor’s office. This is the second official to end his life in the premises of the police station in four months.
“An investigation has been opened to determine the precise circumstances” of this tragedy, said in a press release the public prosecutor, Samuel Finielz. “There is no particular element that emerges from the first elements of the investigation on the reasons which led him to this act”, he specified.
A precedent in February
The policeman was 51 years old and the father of three children. “The whole of the judicial court joins in the pain and the pain of his relatives and his work comrades,” continued the prosecutor.
In February, an investigator from the judicial police had already committed suicide in his office at the Toulon police station, also with his service weapon, on his return from vacation.
