A participant in the July urban violence betrayed by his DNA

A 20-year-old man was arrested and then presented to the Montpellier public prosecutor’s office. He is suspected of having participated in urban violence in Montpellier, on the night of June 30 to July 1.

Investigators reportedly found his DNA on a bar at the post office in the La Pergola-Petit-Bard district, which had been looted and ransacked on this occasion. A pharmacy and a premises for the prefect’s delegate had suffered the same fate.

The man arrested is unfavorably known to the police, which is why his DNA appears in the national automated genetic fingerprint file. He must be brought before the judicial court as part of the immediate appearance hearing.
