A Paris-Nice flight diverted to Lyon because of an engine fire alarm

Taken off Monday evening around 9:30 p.m., the Easyjet flight which was to connect Paris Orly to Nice, did not quite go as planned. In the cockpit, the triggering of an alarm suggesting that one of the two engines of the Airbus A320 was on fire forced the pilots to make an emergency landing in Lyon, reports Nice morning. Information corroborated by the airport of the Côte d’Azur.

A spokesperson confirmed to 20 minutes that there was indeed “a diversion” of flight EJU1638 due to a “technical cause”. In Lyon, an “inspection” was carried out. “Nothing to report”, concluded the technicians. And the aircraft was able to take off again to reach Nice in the evening. “EasyJet operates its fleet in strict accordance with the recommendations of the manufacturers”, specified the company in the columns of the regional daily.
