The dramatic accident took place on Sunday in a warehouse in Fréjus. A one-and-a-half-year-old girl was killed, crushed by a handling machine, said 20 minutes the Var departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis), confirming information from Nice morning. At the time of the impact, the pallet truck was a priori driven by the victim’s grandfather, who could have escaped his supervision as well as that of his father, who was also present.
The emergency services, quickly on the spot, did not manage to revive the child, probably dead on the spot. An investigation has been opened to determine the exact causes of this accident. Expertise is currently being carried out on the vehicle and an autopsy should take place in the next few days.
