It was the victim himself who gave the alert last August. A couple were arrested on Tuesday in the Lyon suburbs, suspected of having hacked into a nurse’s professional account to generate more than a thousand fake health passes, learned 20 minutes at the gendarmerie. Both were charged and the man remanded in custody. A judicial investigation has been opened by the Bordeaux public prosecutor’s office given the extent of the case and the investigations entrusted to the Central Office for the Fight against Damage to the Environment and Public Health (OCLAESP).
The investigation began during the summer after the report of a liberal nurse practicing in Taillan-Médoc, in Gironde. The latter noticed that in a few days, her professional account dedicated to vaccination against Covid-19 had generated more than a thousand false sesames. Much more than she had actually done. According to the gendarmerie, the investigations are proving to be “complex” and “thorough” because the hackers took multiple precautions and used in particular anonymization software.
During their search, the gendarmes discovered a handgun, around twenty mobile phones but also “a very large number of digital media” in the couple’s home. So many elements that suggest a traffic of greater magnitude.
