A new death by drowning on the Crozon peninsula

The black series continues on the Crozon peninsula (Finistère) where three people had already lost their lives bathing last weekend. Sunday evening, a man in his forties died of drowning, we learned from the maritime prefecture of the Atlantic.

The alert was given around 10:45 p.m. by a witness who reported the presence of a swimmer in difficulty off the Quelern peninsula in Roscanvel. Significant resources were then deployed with the intervention of the Civil Security Dragon 29 helicopter and an SNSM boat. An hour after the alert, the swimmer was finally spotted in the water by the emergency services. But despite several attempts at resuscitation, he unfortunately did not survive.

After this new tragedy, the maritime authorities are relaunching their call for vigilance and recalling the basic rules of safety at sea, inviting swimmers in particular to “respect the supervised and secure bathing areas” and to “make sure to have a suitable level of practice for swimming. »
