A new call for witnesses after the disappearance of a nurse in Crozon? Pay attention to the date

On Facebook, a publication of the media France bleu is massively relayed on social networks. “Disappearance of a nurse in Crozon: the gendarmerie calls for witnesses”, titles the article of our colleagues.

The news is viral and the reader could imagine that the disappearance is recent. However, the article is much earlier than the date of these shares and this could mislead the reader.

FAKE OFF

The article which has become very viral in recent hours was indeed published by France Bleu… but on May 26, 2021. A few days earlier, a 39-year-old nurse, Jessica Nenan, had disappeared after her round of patients, in Crozon (Finistère) . A call for witnesses had indeed been launched, but it is not recent.

The article seems to have been shared by two different pages “Brest info” and “Tu es de Brest si”. But why the disappearance of Jessica Nenan now reappears on social networks? On Twitter as on Facebook, a link is made with the recent death of Helena Cluyou, a student from Brest who has been missing since January 29. She also wanted to become a nurse.

parallel lives

After her disappearance, a charred body was finally found on February 9 in Argol, at the entrance to the Crozon peninsula and it was confirmed this Saturday that it was indeed the body of the young woman of 20 years. The suspect, a 36-year-old from Brest, died in hospital after a double suicide attempt. He had confided earlier to his relatives to have “made a mistake with a girl”, while repeating that it was “an accident”.

Does the main suspect have a troubled past that would make it possible to understand the two disappearances? At least that’s what internet users imagine. “Helena was perhaps not his only victim… another woman disappeared in Crozon, when he lived there… she was also a nurse,” said one of them.

Others wonder if Jessica Nenan had not crossed paths with Sylvain L. also. Finally, Internet users make other links between the two young women: the perimeter of the disappearance, or their profession.

But if the past of Sylvain L. is a key element of the investigation, there is no link established for the moment between the disappearances of Jessica Nenan and Helena Cluyou.
