A mountaineer died and another was seriously injured this Friday morning in the Ecrins massif (Hautes-Alpes), reports Provence.
The accident occurred around 10 a.m. on the Pelvoux, while the climbers were moving in the Coolidge corridor, where they unscrewed. According to the regional daily, they were evolving without a mountain guide.
An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the accident.
