The A20 motorway is closed to traffic in both directions this Tuesday morning, due to an accident involving a heavy goods vehicle and a light vehicle. A man was killed instantly.
The year 2024 begins with a tragedy on the A20 motorway. Very early this Tuesday morning, shortly after 5 a.m., a heavy goods vehicle ended its journey on the central reservation after hitting the guardrail, for reasons currently unknown.
The accident caused the truck to burst into flames almost immediately, while at the same time, the driver of a light vehicle was unable to avoid the collision with the damaged heavy goods vehicle.
The driver of this car died instantly following this accident, while the driver of the heavy goods vehicle is, for the moment, seriously injured, according to our colleagues at France 3 Occitanie. The accident took place in the town of Cuzance, in the Lot.
Emergency services quickly intervened and the highway was cut in both directions of traffic between exits no. 54 (Martel) and no. 55 (Souillac).
