A mayor of Gironde returns her tricolor scarf “out of solidarity”

It is a strong gesture that this mayor of Cénac, in Gironde, has decided to make. This Thursday, Catherine Veyssy published an open letter intended for Emmanuel Macron after the decision of the mayor of Saint-Brévin to resign after the violent threats to which he was subjected. “I am deeply upset by the resignation of Yannick Morez, mayor of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins. I do not know him personally, but yet I endorse his words and his dismay, ”she says.

In his text posted on his facebook accountCatherine Veyssy points the finger at “ever greater responsibilities which expose us personally on the legal and judicial level” and believes that she and believes that she and her colleagues are “left behind by the Republic”.

A gesture “in solidarity”

And to add: “the resignation of a Mayor who expresses his difficulties in exercising his mandate is a failure of the Republic. It should not be trivialized. The discomfort is deep. The mental load is heavy. The mayor of this village of some 1,800 inhabitants in the heart of Gironde also took the opportunity to send her tricolor scarf to Emmanuel Macron “out of solidarity”.
