A man suspected of having engaged in drug trafficking via Snapchat

A man, accused of having engaged in drug trafficking via Snapchat, was arrested last week by the Pyrenees-Orientales police. The suspect was surprised somewhat by chance, by the agents of the anti-crime brigade, while he was talking with a pedestrian. Suspecting a drug transaction, the police followed his vehicle and checked it once it was parked. Cannabis resin and cash were found.

A search of the suspect’s home allowed the police to discover nearly 7 kg of cannabis resin, more than 1 kg of herbal cannabis, 32 g of cocaine and 2,370 euros in cash. Placed in police custody, the man admitted that he had been involved in the resale of narcotics via this very popular social network, since February.
