A man shot dead in Ille-et-Vilaine during a probable burglary

The details of the facts remain to be clarified, but there is at least one thing for sure: the Ille-et-Vilaine gendarmerie, warned at 5.45 am this Saturday morning, was able to note the death of a 37-year-old man in Lanhélin , near Saint-Malo, shot dead by the owner of the home where he had entered.

“It appears that the victim entered the home of the alleged perpetrator. All this ends with a blow probably with the hunting rifle, in any case of the large caliber insofar as the victim was ejected under the recoil towards the outside ”, indicated the prosecutor of Saint-Malo Christine Le Crom, confirming information from West France.

The alleged perpetrator of the gunshot, aged 62, was “a priori the victim of burglary last week in a context which remains to be determined” and was placed in police custody, added the prosecutor, while specifying that the deceased man had multiple criminal records. According to West France, a woman and a teenager were also taken in by the emergency services, shocked but not injured. Judicial information could be opened by the Rennes prosecutor’s office, and an autopsy must be performed as soon as possible.
