A tragedy occurred early Tuesday afternoon in the town of Honnechy, near Cambrai (North), reports The voice of the North. Around 2 p.m., firefighters responded to a house fire. It is the occupant of the premises, a man in his fifties, who would have deliberately set fire to his house. He then committed suicide with a gun.
When help arrived, the victim was in cardiorespiratory arrest and could not be saved. Present at the scene of the tragedy, the family of the fifty-year-old as well as two gendarmes who witnessed the suicide were taken care of by the emergency services.
