a man in pre-trial detention

Justice advances in the Tarn after the death of a 7-year-old girl. The alleged driver of a damaged car, in which the child was, was indicted Wednesday, in particular for “aggravated manslaughter”, and placed in pre-trial detention, we learned from the prosecution.

The manslaughter charge is compounded by the lack of a license and speeding. The 29-year-old man is also indicted for “unintentional injuries” and “failure to assist a person in danger”.

Man on the run after the accident

Arrested Tuesday in Aveyron, he had been taken into police custody in the Tarn, before being presented to an examining magistrate. On Monday, the car swerved shortly after a bend and ended up in a field in Navès, south of Castres. The seven-year-old was killed while the other three passengers in the car – the driver’s wife and their two children – were slightly injured, according to the prosecution. The driver, who belongs to the Traveler community, had fled.
