The Orange GIGN is on site. – Gendarmerie
The GIGN mobilized in the Hautes-Alpes for a madman entrenched at home. A man took refuge at his home late Tuesday afternoon in the town of Saint-Etienne de Laus, in the Hautes-Alpes. “He made coherent remarks and exhibited weapons, but no exchange of fire took place”, specifies the gendarmerie. The GIGN of Orange was mobilized on the spot as well as three negotiators and about twenty gendarmes. The area is cordoned off.
Negotiations were started on Tuesday evening but the situation did not change this Wednesday morning. It has nothing to compare with those of Dordogne, or the Cévennes of a few days ago, indicates the gendarmerie.
