a man accused of around fifty burglaries arrested in Rennes

Police officers from the Rennes anti-crime brigade arrested a suspected serial burglar on Saturday evening. Aged 37, the individual is suspected of having visited around fifty companies in the Rennes region since February. Each time, the individual took advantage of the absence of employees to break into the premises. He only stole money and meal vouchers “to meet his needs,” according to a police source.

Placed in custody, the 30-year-old was presented to justice on Monday as part of an appearance on prior admission of guilt (CRPC). The individual is not at his first attempt. In April 2020, he had already made a name for himself by presenting himself to the central police station in Rennes to confess a hundred burglaries in companies in the south of the city.
