For fans of family tobogganing, cross-country skiing and the Tour de France, the burden must be even greater. “A major fire” ravages the Beille trayin Ariège, since this Friday morning around 8 a.m., and more particularly its brand new reception building, which housed the ski rental counters and a new restaurant.
“Rescue immediately went to the spot, where gendarmes were already there”, indicates Sylvie Feucher, the prefect of Ariège, specifying that at midday the fire was “still in progress” despite the efforts made by the 45 firefighters on site. A drone supports extinguishing operations.
The representative of the State explains that “no victim is to be deplored in this disaster” and that a gendarmerie investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the fire.
