A magnitude 3.7 earthquake felt this Tuesday morning

Several departments in the south-east of France shook this Tuesday morning. At 6:52 a.m., a tremor of magnitude 3.7, recorded in the Southern Alps, 20 km northwest of Barcelonette (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), was also felt in the Hautes-Alpes and the Alpes- Maritimes, according to data from French Central Seismological Bureau (BCSF). Testimonies were notably transmitted from the village of Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée and the Cannes region.

The epicenter of the earthquake is located in the town of Saint-Paul-en-Ubaye, very close to the border with Italy, in an area with high relief, and at a depth of 5 km, according to the report published on the Sismoazur website.
