A Lille burger restaurant is in Deliveroo’s world top 50

In the series of rankings and other “tops” at the start of the year, the home food delivery company Deliveroo has established its own for the year 2020. Sizeable surprise, a restaurant in Lille that has only been open for barely a year, Le Braisé has carved out a place for itself in the top 100 most delivered dishes in the world.

Over the past two years, the coronavirus epidemic has boosted the use of home delivery, including food. This did not prevent some adventurous entrepreneurs from getting started and opening their restaurants, coupling the “on-site” offer to delivery. This is the case of the restaurant Le Braisé, opened in January 2020 in the Porte de Valenciennes district, in Lille. The three partners who set up this business offer “gourmet burgers”, a rather daring choice when you know the offer that already exists in the metropolis. Despite this, and despite the eccentric location of the establishment, success is evident.

In less than a year, Le Braisé has grabbed fifth place in the French top 30 of Deliveroo, behind three Parisian restaurants and one from Bordeaux. A feat since you have to go to 27th place to find Lille in this ranking with the Mac and cheese with ham from Picard. But even better than the top France, Le Braisé is also particularly well ranked in the world top 100, at the 36th position, between Mary’s Burger at Mary’s, in Sydney, Australia and The Pepperoni Pizza of Dough Bros, in Hong Kong, in China.
