A lightning strike triggers a fire in Isère, 130 people evacuated

Four Canadair, two Civil Security helicopters and two Dash water bomber planes notably arrived in the area to support the hundred firefighters on site, who during the first two nights of the fire provided early protection for two companies. and homes “without these being directly threatened”, added the prefecture.

“Four hamlets were evacuated in total, three in Voreppe and another in the town of La Sure-en-Chartreuse. 130 people out of all the hamlets have been evacuated for the moment,” she said, adding that the inhabitants were invited to go to two assembly points in Voreppe and in the adjoining town of Pommiers- La Placette.

Sunday at 10 p.m., however, the fire tended to slow its progress and the situation stabilized, according to the Dauphine Libere.

The fire spreads this Sunday August 7 descended in less than an hour towards the departmental 1075, pushed by the violent winds. The road is closed in both directions between Voreppe and La Buisse as a precaution and to allow emergency services to intervene.
